Cutting the factory oil splash guard with tin snips was the cleanest method, and by making small notches in the baffle inside the cam cover with a hacksaw blade then snapping off sections it created less filings to clean out.

ENGINE PULL

To make life easier Joel and I made up a two brackets for hooking the chain through to pull the motor, plus we cut the radiator support panel out (for now). 

Here you can see the engine hoist wheel literally about to snap off.
Talking about snapping off, first thing we noticed once we pulled the motor was that the dump pipe had a crack 3/4 of the way around. 
For now i welded it back together and braced it up... or maybe i will just mash it with the Thor hammer. Dunno.
